Andeyò is a ongoing project about the loss one feels after leaving their home country. The constant distance between oneself and the place that they are inevitably becoming a stranger to. The Haitian kreyòl word for outside, andeyò is colloquially used to refer to the countryside. I took these pictures while traveling back to Haiti every year, going to the countryside here and there. Each year the country becoming less familiar, each year feeling myself becoming a diaspora to the people I had thought I belonged to. My kreyòl getting heavier and my gaze more interested in the dynamics at play.
